A cappella groups generally hold auditions at the beginning of the fall semester, with some holding auditions at the beginning of the spring semester or at other times depending on group needs. Anyone interested in auditioning for one or more groups is encouraged to attend the Preview Show in early September, where each group performs a few songs from their repertoire. After the show, audition sign-ups officially open, though many groups also allow walk-in auditions for more spontaneous folks!

After audition season comes to a close, groups focus their attention on A Cappella 'Til You Puke (or simply Puke), an all-group event held in early-to-mid October where the soloists are all new members.
