On February 5, 2026, a group of students peacefully disrupted a lecture by Steven Cash, hosted by Engaged Pluralism. The protestors sought to denounce Cash's work in drafting the Patriot Act and establishing the Department of Homeland Security, as well as his invitation to speak at Vassar.[3] The disruption caused the event to end early. In a statement shortly after the event, President Bradley characterized the protest as "against our community expectations as well as the college’s commitment to Academic Responsibility and Respect for Persons".[4] The Community Expectations office and VSA leveled sanctions against SJP and placed the org on probation. In a March 31 statement, SJP characterized the disciplinary response as "egregiously biased and distorted", accusing the College of racial profiling and political repression.[3]
