The Miscellany News (often shortened to The Miscellany or just The Misc) is Vassar's student newspaper.
In 1872 The Vassar Miscellany was first published, marking the origin of the word Miscellany on Vassar publications. Several other publications bore the name, but the modern Miscellany News was not founded until 1915.
In modern times the Misc is the only remaining Vassar newspaper, but in the 1900s there were others, including Unscrewed, The Vassar Spectator, Left of Center, the Vassar Chronicle and Womanspeak.[1]
