Milo Jewett House (usually referred to as Jewett House) is one of the nine main residential houses on campus. With nine stories, it's the tallest dorm.

History

The building was constructed in 1907 under the name North Hall.[2] In 1915, Henry Noble MacCracken gave the house its current name, after the first president of the college.[2]

According to legend, Jewett resident Edna St. Vincent Millay threatened to throw herself from the roof.[2] Evidently, she didn't follow through with that.[3]

The building underwent extensive renovations in 2003.[2]
