2026 Commencement
The 162nd Commencement Ceremony was held on May 24, 2026, at Commencement Hill. 623 students of the Class of 2026 graduated. The ceremony was held amidst intermittent rain.
List of speakers
- Associate Dean of the College for Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices Rev. Callista Isabelle began the ceremony with a moment of reflection, and subsequently delivered a Land Acknowledgement.[1]
- President Elizabeth Bradley gave a welcome address.[transcript 1] During her remarks, a number of students quietly stood up and turned around, a protest of the college's refusal to divest from investing in military corporations.[2]
- Dean of the Faculty Demetrius Eudell honored the retiring faculty: Lisa Brawley, Gwen Broude, Eve D’Ambra, Rebecca Edwards, Tom Ellman, Brian Godfrey, and Stephen Rock.[transcript 2]
