The Biology Department, abbreviated as BIOL, is one of the largest academic departments at Vassar. The department was founded in 1973 through the combination of the Anatomy, Plant Sciences and Zoology Departments.[1] The department's primary facilities are in Olmsted Hall of Biological Sciences, as well as the Bridge for Laboratory Sciences. The department collaborates on several interdepartmental and interdisciplinary programs, including Biochemistry, Environmental Studies, Neuroscience & Behavior and Science, Technology & Society.[2]
